Comments:	Dinosaur Ridge is a National Natural Landmark and has been ranked as the top dinosaur tracksite in the United States. In 1877, some of the best-known dinosaurs were first discovered by Arthur Lakes, a professor at the Colorado School of Mines in Golden. These discoveries included Apatosaurus, Stegosaurus (the Colorado State Fossil) and Allosaurus. These specimens represent animals that lived 150 million years ago in the Late Jurassic Period also known as the "Age of Giants".<p> (The Dinosaur Ridge Discovery Center is located at: Red Rocks Entrance #1 on the West Side of Dinosaur Ridge (Off of Highway 93) 17681 W.
