Hellbrunnerstraße 60 Salzburg / Anif District, Austria, 5081 Phone: +43 662 820176-0 Website Opened in 1961, the Salzburg Zoo is the home to 800 animals from 150 animal species from all over the world on 14 hectares (35 acres). The origin of Salzburg Zoo goes back to 1424 when a game park was established by the Archbishop of Salzburg. This archiepiscopal wildlife park comprised fish farms and flocks of birds. The unique zoo territory is at the foot of the Hellbrunner Mountain with the steep rocky cliffside on one side and the hilly floodplain landscape on the other.
Hours of operation: Daily open 365 days a year at 09:00 (9:00 am) and closes at various times during the year but never earlier than 17:30 (5:30 pm). Check the website for seasonal closing hours.
Admission: Adults €12,00, Senior citizens (from 65 years of age, with ID) €11,50, Children (aged 4 to 14 years) €5,50, Youth (aged 15 to 19 years) €8,00, Visitors with a disability (with ID) €8,50.
Plenty of parking for a fee and limited free parking.
Machine 2 The Eurocent machine is just inside the north entrance and directly across from the restroom. Cost to press: a Euro and a 5 cent Eurocent (€1,05) for each design. Designs all have a dotted border with 'Zoo Salzburg':
