Northwest. The animals of the Oregon Zoo include 2,585 individual animals that represent 215 species or subspecies ofbirds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates and15 endangered species and 7 threatened species live at the zoo. The zoo is active in 62 Species Survival Plans.
Hours of operation: May 26 to Sept. 3 - 9:30 am to 6 pm, Sept. 4 to May 24 - 9:30 am to 4 pm. Grounds remain open one hour after close. Zoo hours change seasonally sometimes even daily, check the website. Penny books are no longer for sale in the Gift shop.
Parking is $2.00 per hour or $8.00 all day.
Machine 8 (Zoo Machine 1) is by the bathrooms near the park entrance. Credit card payment $4 for 4 pennies or dollar bill for $1 per penny:
