Local volunteers carved more than 40 horses by hand for this indoor carousel, which opened in 2001. All of the items, including the animals, were and are ‘adopted’ with sponsorship and support from the local community. Old-world style carousel is housed in a beautiful building on the banks of the Willamette River. The Salem’s Riverfront Carousel Gift Gallery is a great shop filled with fun gifts, decor, toys, baby gifts, hand carved items and more.
Hours of operation: Monday through Thursday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Friday and Saturday 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, Sunday 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. No admission charge. The Oregon State PennyCollector book is for sale for $6.99 in the gift shop (no sales tax in Oregon).
Plenty of free parking.

05-11-21 - Successful mail request received for machine #11.
7/9/23: Both machines had notes on them stating they were out of order. Staff not aware of when they would be fixed. I rolled coins on Machine #12 and it was rolling nice on copper. Machine #11 is completely locked up and will not turn.
