Donauturmplatz 1 Vienna (Wien), Austria, 1220 Phone: +43 (1) 263 35 72 Website The Danube Tower was erected in 1964 for the Vienna International Garden Show. At 252 meters (827 feet) high, the Danube Tower remains the tallest structure in Austria. Along the Observation deck, partly covered by glass and in parts left open, the Tower provides a sense of orientation at a height of 150 meters (492 feet). Three catering levels exist within the tower. One at the foot of the Tower, another is the Turmcafé at 160 meters (524 feet) and finally the rotating Turmrestaurant at 170 meters (558 feet). These three restaurants make the Danube Tower a popular location for events of all kind in Vienna.
To get to the Donauturm Tower take either the metro U1 to the station Alte Donau or the metro U6 to the station Neue Donau. From both metro stations, it’s a mere 5-minute ride with the free-of-charge electric bus shuttle (easily accessible for people with impairments) that takes you directly to the Danube Tower – and back.
The DONAUTURM SHUTTLE is currently out of service. Approximately from mid of March 2021 we will start our Shuttle Service again. Also, consider that Uber does operate in Vienna.
