As you enter the museum, you step into the re-creation of an early working railroad station. Detailed photos and exhibits tell the rich history of railroading in the Coeur d’Alene Mining District, historic Wallace, Idaho, and the Northern Pacific Depot itself. The well-curated museum shop is the perfect place to pick up great books, gifts, and keepsakes for a wide variety of occasions. Railroads have been at work in the Coeur d'Alene silver mining region since 1887. The last train to service the area (Union Pacific) was July 15th, 1994.<p> <b>Please Note: This place has seasonal operating hours.</b><br> Hours of operation: The Northern Pacific Railroad Depot Museum is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm from April 15th until October 15th only. <br> No admission fee to enter the museum gift shop.
