It is operated by Oregon State University (OSU) in cooperation with five state and federal agencies co-located on site. Named after Mark Hatfield, a former U.S. Senator from Oregon, the HMSC occupies a 49-acre site in Newport. <p> Hours of operation: Thursday through Monday10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Closed every Tuesday and Wednesday, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day. Plenty of free parking.<p> <b>CAUTION! This PennyMen machine does not speed roll.</b> When you insert the second round of penny/quarters, the machine will eat your quarters and the unrolled penny will come out the pressed penny slot.<p> <b>Machine 1</b> (Placed 7/15) located to the left of the entrance located about 15 feet to the left of the giant octopus tank.
