The valley access point for the Mönchsberg lift is located on Anton-Neumayr-Platz. The entrance to the lift is labeled Museum der Moderne Salzburg. Rising 60 meters (196 feet) in total, this modern lift carries passengers in just 30 seconds up to the Mönchsberg and Salzburg’s museum of modern art ("Museum der Moderne"). From the scenic Winkler terrace there, visitors are treated to magical views of Salzburg's Old Town. Stepping out of the elevator, at the top visitors find themselves right at the entrance to the museum of modern art. Explore the numerous pathways that lead through the nature sanctuary on top of the Mönchsberg, from where you can enjoy unique views across the historic rooftops of Salzburg's Old Town.

Hours of operation: September through June: Tuesday through Saturday 08:00 (8:00 am) to 21:00 (9:00 pm); Sunday, Monday 08:00 (8:00 am) to 19:00 (9:00 pm), July and August: daily 08:00 (8:00 am) to 23:00 (11:00 pm).
One way on the lift: Adults € 2.70, Children (6-14 years) € 1.30. Round trip on the lift: Adults € 4.00, Children (6-14 years) € 2.00. The Salzburg Card includes one free ride on the Mönchsberg lift. Both Eurocent machines can be reached by taking this lift.

Machine 4 The Eurocent machine is outside on the Winkler terrace as you exit from the lift, directly at the edge overlooking the city. Cost to press: a Euro and a 5 cent Eurocent (€1,05) each design. Designs all have a dotted border:
1. (V) The basilica used in the movie Sound of Music with 'Basilika Mondsee'.
2. (H) The gazebo used in the movie Sound of Music with 'Sound Of Music'.
3. (H) The castle used in the movie Sound of Music with 'Leopoldskron Salsburg'.

Machine 3 The Eurocent machine is outside on the Winkler terrace as you exit from the lift, directly at the edge overlooking the city but up a few stairs to a higher portion of the terrace. Cost to press: a Euro and a 5 cent Eurocent (€1,05) each design. Designs all have a dotted border:
1. (H) The Salzburg Cathedral with 'Dom Zu Salzburg'.
2. (V) Image of Mozart with 'Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart'.
3. (H) Fortress Hohensalzburg with 'Festung Hohen Salzburg'.

Retired 1: 1. (V) Hellbrunn Palace with 'Hellbrunn Salzburg', 2. (H) Hohensalzburg with 'Hellbrunn Salzburg', 3. (H) Gazebo with 'Zauberflöten Pavillon', 4. (H) Hohensalzburg with 'Salzburg Mozartstadt'.
