As research on children’s early learning expanded in the 1970s, the Museum’s focus shifted to one of hands-on, experience-based learning. Though much has changed, arts and crafts like those taught in the 1940s continue to delight children and families today.<p> The Portland Children's Museum is centrally located within easy walking distance (5 minutes) to 3 other penny machines within Washington Park at the Oregon Zoo.<p> Hours of operation: 7 days a week 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. These hours vary for holidays and special events: check the website. <br> The museum has a policy that all adults must have children with them to enter.
