William F. Cody died in 1917 and was buried in Lookout Mountain Park. In 1921 the Buffalo Bill Memorial Museum was opened near the grave. The artifacts in the Museum were items he had collected over the years and had gathered from the many friends who had performed with him in the Wild West. Keep in mind that with the views comes a real steep winding drive to get to the mountain top.

Summer hours are May 1 through October 31 Museum: Daily 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Gift Shop/Café: Daily 8:30 a.m. - Sunset.
Winter hours November 1 through April 30 Museum: Tuesday – Sunday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Closed Christmas Day. Gift Shop/Café: Daily 9:00 – Sunset.
Museum admission: Adults: $5.00 Seniors (65+): $4.00 Children 6 – 15: $1.00 Children age 5 and under: free.
Plenty of free parking.

All the penny machines and the token machine are located next to each other in a back room of the Pahaska Tepee Gift Shop which exits to Buffalo Bill’s grave. You do not have to pay admission to the Museum to go to the gift shop.
