Explore amazing caverns, experience total cave darkness, and marvel at the beauty of formations hundreds of thousands of years old. By far the most famous section of the Cave of the Winds is the Silent Splendor room. Discovered in 1984, the room contains numerous rare crystalline speleothems. The Bat-A-Pult is a zip line that takes you on an epic, 1,200-foot round trip flight across Williams Canyon at speeds of nearly 25 mph. You'll also want to try out the Wind Walker Challenge Course. Located on the rim of a 600-foot drop into Williams Canyon, thrill-seekers of all ages can navigate a challenging maze of steel beams, swinging ropes and ladders, wearing a specially designed harness. You do not have to purchase admission to access the machine. Open 364 days (closed Christmas?). Summer hours: 9:00 a.m. through 9:00 p.m. Winter hours: 10:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. Plenty of free parking. Machine is now located across from the ATM machine on the landing in the middle of the stairs leading to Subterranean Play Land. As you enter through the main entrance and pass the Snack Bar you will see the sign for Subterranean Play Land immediately in front of you with the stairs to the left of the sign.

7/17/2023 - Machine just outside the gift shop. Costs $0.51 for each design (you supply the penny). Employee warned me to make sure you line up directly on the dots to press correctly. However, even with lining up right on the dots, 1 of the 4 did not press correctly (had to do a 2nd try to get it right). Two still rolled a little short. {bjj} |
