The Buda Castle Funicular was admitted to the list of UNESCO World Heritage sites in 1987. Currently it runs on a 95-meter route of 50 meters elevation and has two tram cars. The Buda Castle Funicular has two stations, the lower station is at the Buda end of the Chain Bridge and the upper station is on Castle Hill, between Royal Palace and Sandor Palace.

Token Machine 1: in front of the funicular. Cost is 1200 florint, card only. Design is
1) Buda Castle on the front and mounted soldier on the back.

11/18/24 Update: There is now a Token machine in front of the funicular, and the 4 penny machine is now across the roundabout.
I stumbled upon the penny machine taking the path up to the castle; the traditional listed path next to the funicular is closed for construction.
For the penny press, turn down Hunyadi Janos Ut and take the steps up; it will be on your left once you turn towards the stairs.
