Grosser Muristalden 6 Bern, Switzerland, 3006 Phone: +41 31 357 15 25 Website The Bernese bears are at home in the BärenPark in the middle of the city. The "Mutzen" live exclusively in the park on the Aarehang with a view of the UNESCO-designated old town of Bern. The approximately 5,000 square meter (54,000 square feet) site stretches from the former Bärengraben down to the banks of the Aare and can be experienced without obstacles.
Hours of operation: Monday through Sunday 24 hours. The keepers are present every day from 08.00 (8:00 am) to 17.00 (5:00 pm). Keep in mind that the bears hibernate typically from November to mid-March. You do not need to pay an entrance fee to reach the machine. Extremely limited amount of public parking. The Parks suggestion is to arrive by public transport.
The machine with 2 designs is standing at the small building between the old bear-enclosures, on the opposite side from the staff doors. When standing facing the machine, the pit the bears still live in is on the right, and then the road and bus stops.
Machine 1 is between the bear pits and the staff building. Cost to press: One 2 Swiss Franc coin or two 1 Swiss Franc coins and a 20 Rappen coin (CHf 2.20). Design 1 has a ringed border and design 2 has a beaded border with 'BärenPark @ Bern':
1. (H) Park logo.
2. (H) Bear face.

24/05/2022: the machine is still there. It is south of the larger bear pit that the bears can still enter, and at the west wall of the small staff building. When facing the bear pits from the main road, it is therefore on the left hand side and tucked into the wall. |
