33175 Ann Arbor Trail Westland, MI , 48185 Phone: 734-261-1990 Website The Nankin Mills Interpretive Center is a historic grist mill that has three floors of public displays highlighting; Native American history, water-powered settlements and Underground Railroad history along the Rogue River, as well as, Henry Ford's use of the mill for one of his Village Industry manufacturing sites. There is no admission fee for an individual to visit the Interpretive Center. Guided tours are available to groups for a fee.
Open Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. & Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
The machine is located on the second floor among the industrial era exhibits. Admission required to get to it. Designs are:
1) A Grist Mill water wheel,
2) A Turtle,
3) A car,
4) An Indian arrowhead.
They also have a NPS stamp so bring your passports!
