The dominant feature of the park is Lassen Peak; the largest plug dome volcano in the world and the southern-most volcano in the Cascade Range. Lassen Volcanic National Park started as two separate national monuments designated by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1907: Cinder Cone National Monument and Lassen Peak National Monument.
Hours of operation for the Visitor Center: Summer: May 1 through October 31 Monday through Sunday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Winter: November 1 through April 30 Wednesday through Sunday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Closed Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Plenty of free parking.
Machine 2: Located at the Kohm-Yah-Mah-Nee Visitors Center near the southwest entrance to the park, inside the gift shop next to the cafe. Cost to press: 51¢ each design. Designs have a beaded border except design #2 has a ringed border:
