The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden is the second-oldest zoo in the United States, opening in 1875, after the Philadelphia Zoo. It is located in the Avondale neighborhood of Cincinnati. It originally began with 64.5 acres in the middle of the city, but has spread into the neighboring blocks and several reserves in Cincinnati's outer suburbs. It was appointed as a National Historic Landmark in 1987.
he Main Zoo Entrance which used to be off Dury Ave on the east side of the zoo is now the Vine St Entrance on the south side of the facility. The main gift shop is right inside the zoo entrance at the Vine Street Village right after you pass Guest Relations.
Gift Shop sells a generic penny books for $4.99 and the 5th Edition Zoo/Aquarium (coin cover) penny album costs $6.99.
They have installed all new machines. All the machines are in the same locations as before. Looks like all the machines have the same designs as before except the two near the main entrance have changed slightly
The new machines supply the penny as well. Also, if you pay with card, you can only get all 4 designs. One design at a time costs $1 each.
