The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte is the creation of three artists brought together by Nicolas Fouquet, Louis XIV's superintendent of finances: the gardener André Le Nôtre, the architect Louis Le Vau and the painter-decorator Charles Le Brun. Stemming from the fraternal genius of these three men, the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte is a model whose majesty and balance will inspire the Palace of Versailles and the whole of Europe for centuries.
The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte, is a high place of festivities at the time of Nicolas Fouquet, invites you to go back in time during a day to return to the time of the Sun King and the artists of the Great Century! Every year, thousands of costumed and curious visitors flock to the gates of the castle, dressed in their finest clothes to live a day at the seventeenth-century courtyard in the ideal setting of the palace.
