Website

The USS Hornet Museum is composed of the USS Hornet (CV-12) aircraft carrier, exhibits from the NASA Apollo moon exploration missions, and several retired aircraft from the Second World War and the transonic and early supersonic jet propulsion period. A number of compartments contain exhibits concerning contemporary carriers that are supported by related associations. The flight deck, hangar deck, and first deck below are open for self-guided tours. Docent-led tours are available into the ship's navigation and flight deck control areas of the island and down into one of the engineering spaces containing two of the four ship's propulsion turbines.
It is located on the southernmost pier of the former Naval Air Station Alameda. There are plans to relocate it to the corner of the Seaplane Lagoon closest to the Alameda Point Museum in conjunction with a ferry terminal and a light rail or bus connection to BART.

Machine 3: All have 'USS Hornet Alameda, CA' on them. The machine is in the ship store onboard the ship on the Hanger Deck. Designs are:
1) Anchor with rope wrapped around it.
2) F-14 Fighter Jet.
3) 'USS Hornet Museum', Logo.
4) USS Hornet Apollo Recovery Ship" inside the double oval and Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 on either side in banners (Similar to retired single design 1).

Retired designs/Machines:

Retired 1: "USS Hornet CVS-12" on top. "NAS Alameda SAN FRANCISCO BAY" on the bottom. In the center of the oval is a picture of the USS Hornet.
Retired 2: "USS Hornet Apollo Recovery Ship" in inside the double oval and Apollo 11 and Apollo 12 on either side in banners. In the center of the oval is a picture of the USS Hornet with an Apollo space ship floating in the water in front of it. A very nice design.

Both retired single design machines were sold at the LA County Fair in 2009. Unk who has them.

4/18: New machine 3 installed.

7/09/21: Machine rolling fine though a bit short on copper. RK
