The city’s seafaring heritage is brought to life within the historic Albert Dock. The museum’s collections reflect the international importance of Liverpool as a gateway to the world, including its role in the transatlantic slave trade, Irish emigration, the merchant navy and the RMS Titanic. The UK Border Agency National Museum, 'Seized! The Border and Customs uncovered' is located in the basement gallery of the building.
Hours of operation: Tuesday to Sunday & Bank Holidays 10.00 (10:00 am) to 16.00 (4:00 pm). Closed Monday. Free admission.
Parking for the Albert Dock is at the 24-hour Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool and Albert Dock multi-story car park, and a limited amount of parking on the Dock itself. There is also extra parking at Liverpool One’s Q Park and the John Lewis car park on Liver Street. Parking facilities are open 24 hours a day. Parking and handicap accessible parking are not free.
The Merseyside Maritime Museum is a sister museum to the World Museum Liverpool at Piers Head where there is also a penny machine.
