Albert Dock Liverpool Waterfront Hartley Quay
MERSEYSIDE - Liverpool, England, L3 4AQ
Phone: 0151 478 449
Opened in 1980 and expanded in 1986, the museum occupies warehouse block D at the Albert Dock, along with the Pier master's House, Canning Half Tide Dock and Canning Graving Docks. The city’s seafaring heritage is brought to life within the historic Albert Dock. The museum’s collections reflect the international importance of Liverpool as a gateway to the world, including its role in the transatlantic slave trade, Irish emigration, the merchant navy and the RMS Titanic. The UK Border Agency National Museum, 'Seized! The Border and Customs uncovered' is located in the basement gallery of the building.
The penny machine is directly in front of you as you enter the museum. Open daily 10:00 am to 17:00 (5:00 pm). Free admission. You’ll find parking for the Albert Dock at the 24-hour Arena and Convention Centre Liverpool and Albert Dock multi-story car park, and a limited amount of parking on the Dock itself. There is also extra parking at Liverpool One’s Q Park and the John Lewis car park on Liver Street. Parking facilities are open 24 hours a day. Parking and handicap accessible parking are not free. The Merseyside Maritime Museum is a sister museum to the World Museum Liverpool at Piers Head where there is also a penny machine.
