Loudon Street Winchester, VA , 22601 Phone: 540-542-1145 Website The Shenandoah Valley Civil War Museum is housed in the historic 1840 Frederick County Court House, which served as a prison, hospital, and barracks for both sides during the Civil War. Soldiers wrote their names and drew pictures on the walls, some of which can still be seen. The museum features the restored courtroom, Civil War “graffiti” left by soldiers (including the famed “Jeff Davis Curse”), a nationally recognized collection of Civil War relics, and exhibits that tell the fascinating story of the Civil War era in the Shenandoah Valley.
The Museum also has a gift shop with many unique items to choose from, as well an extensive selection of new and used Civil War available for purchase.
The machine is to the left of the front door in the gift shop. You do not need to pay admission to use the machine. Designs are,
