In 1759, the Jesuit Order was banned from Portugal by the Marquis of Pombal, Prime Minister of King José I. In 1772, the bishopric seat was transferred from the old Romanesque Cathedral of the city (now called the Old Cathedral of Coimbra) to the vacant, spacious and more modern Jesuit church.
Hours of operation: Monday through Friday 09.00 (9:00 am) to 18.00 (6:00 pm). Closed Saturday and Sunday. Parking in front.
Admission: €6. You do not need to pay admission to access this machine.
Machine 1 is inside the lobby immediately to the right. Cost to press: €1.05 each design (€1 coin and a 5 Euro cent coin). Designs all have a beaded border with 'Se Nova Coimbra':
