Comments:	From the 13,000-foot summit of Wheeler Peak to the sage-covered foothills, Great Basin National Park is a place to sample the stunning diversity of the larger Great Basin region. Come and partake of the solitude of the wilderness, walk among ancient bristlecone pines, bask in the darkest of night skies, and explore mysterious subterranean passages. There's a whole lot more than just desert here!<br> Hours of operation for Café and Gift shop: April to October Monday through Sunday 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. When school is out of session the hours extend 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Closed for the winter. Plenty of free parking. Great Basin National Park is open year-round.<p> There are two Visitor Centers in the park:<p> <b>The Lehman Caves Visitor Center</b> is on NV Highway 488, 5.5 miles from the town of Baker and half a mile inside the park boundary. The Visitor Center is open 7 days a week except where noted. May 24 to September 7 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, September 8 to October 31 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, November 01 to May 23 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
