Via San Carlo, 15 Naples (Napoli) - Campania Region (NA) Naples Province, Italy, 80132 Phone: +39 081 795 1111 Website Galleria Umberto I is a public shopping gallery built between 1887–1891, and was the cornerstone in the decades-long rebuilding of Naples that lasted until World War I. The Galleria employs modern architectural elements reminiscent of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan. The Galleria is a high and spacious cross-shaped structure, surmounted by a glass dome braced by 16 metal ribs. Of the four iron and glass-vaulted wings, one fronts on via Toledo (via Roma), still the main downtown thoroughfare, and another opens onto the San Carlo Theater.
Hours of operation: Access to the inside of the mall seems to be 24 hours (no exterior doors), but the Euro-cent machine may not be available all hours. If you enter the Galleria from Via Giuseppe Verdi (east side) you'll be right at the machine on the left hand side. Parking can be found around the mall area.
Machine 1 is inside the Galleria at the east entrance in front of the stores called boxoffice (Theatre ticket sales) and Caffetteria Umberto (wine bar). Cost to press: €1.05 each design (€1 coin and a 5 Euro cent coin). Designs all have a 'MC' (Maecri) beaded border with 'Napoli':
1. (V) A Pulcinella (Italian puppet) holding a pizza with 'Pulcinella'.
2. (H) Castel Nuovo with 'Maschio Angioino'.
3. (H) Mount Vesuvius over a heart with 'Vesuvio'.
4. (H) Public square in front of Basilica Reale Pontificia San Francesco da Paola with 'Piazza Del Plebiscito'.

November 3, 2022. The Euro-cent machine is pressing excellent well centered images. I had visited this location on May 2, 2018 and the machine was here. Upon return to Naples, I decided to see if the machine was still here since a previous posting indicated it wasn't here. It was in the exact same location as in May of 2018. MWHTH
