The Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a sculpture carved into the granite face of Mount Rushmore. Sculpted by Danish-American Gutzon Borglum and his son, Lincoln Borglum, Mount Rushmore features 60-foot sculptures of the heads of four United States presidents: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. The entire memorial covers 1,278.45 acres and is 5,725 feet above sea level.

Hours of operation for the Gift Shop:
March 30 to April 26: 8:00 am to 8:30 pm, April 27 to May 9: 8:00 am to 9:00 pm, May 10 to 24: 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, May 25 to August 12: 8:00 am to 10:30 pm, August 13 to September 30: 8:00 am to 9:30 pm, October 1 to 18: 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, October 19 to November 4: 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, November 5 to March: 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Two penny books and one token album are for sale here for $5.99 each.
A parking garage for a fee is in front of the Memorial.

Active penny Machines 10, 11 and 12 cost to press: 51¢ each design. All have 'JR' at the catch notch, 'Mt. Rushmore National Memorial' on the front and are mules with 'MT Rushmore South Dakota' on the reverse side.
