2700 Broadway Street Toledo, OH , 43614 Phone: 419-385-5721 Website 10/21/23 All machines are currently gone. Spoke with a few staff members in the gift shop and they confirmed that all of them were in the process of being replaced. They were confident that new machines would be coming back but couldn’t verify when. If we can keep this forum open and someone can check periodically next season, that would be great. MDB
The Toledo Zoo began in 1900 as Toledo Zoological Gardens and was operated by the City of Toledo's Parks Board. In 1982 ownership was transferred from the city to the Toledo Zoological Society.
The zoo participates in over 30 Species Survival Plans and is also a member of the Butterfly Conservation Initiative.
Toledo Zoo has been home to many firsts in the world of zoos; such as the first Hippoquarium (and subsequently the first video of a hippo birth) as well as being the first place in the world to display the Kihansi Spray Toad.
7/19: There were 10 new 4 design penny machines installed here. They were all hand cranks and cost $1.01 per design (Your penny)
