Hardly Strictly Bluegrass is a FREE gathering in Golden Gate Park featuring over 90 musical artists on 7 stages started by a gift from Warren Hellman. It was originally intended only as a bluegrass event but expanded into many other types of music. The festival draws very large crowds, nearly equal in number to the entire population of San Francisco. In 2011, the festival drew an estimated 750,000 people over the course of the three-day event.

This is a weekend event in October of each year. In 2018, the event ran from October 5 to October 7, the same weekend as Fleet Week with the Blue Angles flying over Fisherman's Wharf.

This event has an attended (But you are encouraged to press them yourself) FREE single penny machine on the grounds each year near the small Blusgrass event museum. You only need a penny and but they do have free Zinc pennies available.
There was no designs made for 2016 but they did have designs in at least the years of 2009, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018.

The designs were:
1) 2009: 'Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2009', Image of Mr Hellmen, the festival founder, in a circle with stars around it,
2) 2013: 'HSB Lucky 13', words in horseshoe in a circle with stars and designs on the sides.
3) 2014: 'Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2017 14', 14 in a small circle in an oval with mountains and trees with name around top and bottom, Stars on sides.
4) 2015: 'Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2015', Swan in a circle with name and year around bottom. Stars and designs on sides.
5) 2017: 'Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2017', Minivan with a rooster on top and date on side in middle with Golden Gate Bridge in background. Name around top and bottom.
6) 2018: 'HSB 2018', Tree on a circle with HSB on left and date on right. Stars on sides
