Museumweg 2 Broek op Langedijk, Netherlands, 1721 BW Phone: 0226 313807 Website The Broeker Auction was the first auction in the Netherlands where horticultural products were auctioned at discount rates. The auction was created on 29 July 1887 at the Bakkersbrug in Broek on Langedijk in the open air. The current wooden auction house was built in 1912.
Here is a historic auction clock. In 1922 the building was expanded with a lighal, which caused the products to not be exposed to bright sunshine, rain and other weather influences. In 1925 a second lighal was built.
The Broeker Auction is no longer serving as an auction since 1973. It is now a museum where gardening tools and sculptures are exhibited. Also, auctions are regularly held with gardeners, so it is possible to see how it used to be when the gardeners auctioned their cabbage there.
Designs are:
1) Building Broekerviling with the text "Museum BroekerVeiling"
2) Tuindersschuit with the text "Museum BrekerVeiling"
3) Ext "I'm super Cabbage" Cabbage (kool in dutch but you say "cool") ;)
