The National WWII Museum, formerly the D-Day Museum, is a military history museum located on Andrew Higgins Drive between Camp Street and Magazine Street. The museum focuses on the contribution made by the United States to the Allied victory in World War II. Founded in 2000, it was later designated by the U.S. Congress as America's official National World War II Museum in 2003. The museum maintains an affiliation with the Smithsonian Institution. The mission statement of the Museum emphasizes the American experience in World War II. This museum is the #1 Attraction in New Orleans, #3 Museum in the USA, and the #8 Museum in the World.

Hours of operation: Monday through Sunday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Closed Mardi Gras Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
The penny book ($5.00), token book ($5.00) and pennybandz ($6.00) are for sale in the Hall Of Democracy Pavilion Gift Shop ground floor.
The Museum's parking garage is located at 1024 Magazine Street. This portion of Magazine Street is a one-way, and the garage is located on the left side. Rates: 0–1 hours $8, 1–3 hours $15, 3–7 hours $20, 7–12 hours $25,12–24 hours $50.

Admission: You must pay admission to access all machines. Adult $32.50, Senior (65+) $27.50, Military- $20.00 (Active, Retired, Veterans), Spouse of Military (Active, Retired or Veteran) $20.00, College Student (With ID) $20.00, Child (K-12th Grade) $20.00, Child (Under 5) $0.00, WWII Veteran $0.00, Companion of WWII Veteran (Requires a WWII Veteran ticket) $0.00 and Accessibility $20.00. Second Day Pass: $7.00. Requires General Admission purchase. Second day to be used within 7 days of original date of visit.
