Fort Meigs was a United States fortification along the Maumee River in Ohio during the War of 1812. The British army, supported by Tecumseh's Confederacy, failed to capture the fort during the Siege of Fort Meigs. It is named in honor of Ohio governor Return J. Meigs, Jr., for his support in providing General William Henry Harrison with militia and supplies for the line of forts along the Old Northwest frontier.

No fee to enter the Visitor Center. A fee is required for entrance to the Fort and Museum.

The machine is inside the Visitor Center near the Front Entrance. All have 'Ohio's War of 1812, Fort Meigs Battlefield 1813' on them. Designs are:
1) Rifleman,
2) Flower,
3) Image of fort and wall,
4) Soldiers firing a cannon.

9/18/2024 update: The rifleman penny wouldn't press correctly despite 6 tries (completely misaligned, with the edges of two designs sharing the coin). Other designs rolling well. jnm
