Situated to the north of Barton-Upon-Humber, on the edge of the Humber estuary, Waters Edge contains a wide diversity of plant and wildlife. Established in 1996 on a site which had previously been a series of clay quarries, Waters Edge has breathed new life into what was once a derelict area.
At the core of the country park is the new Waters Edge Visitors Centre which was completed in 2006. With an excellent BREEM accreditation and a stunning curved glass frontage, the Centre contains interactive displays about wildlife and sustainability issues such as climate change. There are also live images of wildlife around the park, games and other activities for people of all ages.
