Pier Approach Bournemouth Dorset DORSET - Bournemouth, England, BH2 5AA Pier was opened in August 1880. Consisting of an open promenade, it stretched to a length of 838 ft and spanned some 35 ft across the neck of the pier, extending to 110 ft at the head. Two extensions, in 1894 and 1909 respectively, took the pier's overall length to more than 1000 ft.
At the pier entrance you'll find a large arcade with the latest games, a number of units selling everything from ice-cream to sun hats, postcards and lots more. Above the arcade is Aruba bar and restaurant.
Off season it's free to get on the pier, during the main season there is a small fee to get on.
Machine 2 is located just before you get onto the pier outside a gift shop on the right of Pier Approach. Designs are:
1- Land Train and Beach Huts
2- Bournemouth Pier and Air Display
3- Durdle Door, Jusrasic Coast and Cliff face
4- Bournemouth Pier, Variety Hall and Ferris wheel
Machine 3 is on the east side of the pier, 5 meters from the pay gate. Designs are:
1) A VW camper van .
2) West Cliff Railway .
3) 'Bournemouth ', pier without the word pier,
4) 'Russell Coates'.
