Comments:	5/8/2022 Rainbow Springs has permanently closed, the machine is no longer in the shop. <p> Rainbow Springs is truly an attraction like no other in the world. Set in beautiful native trees and streams we are home to a huge variety of New Zealand’s most precious inhabitants.<br> The entire experience is built around New Zealand’s largest and most successful kiwi conservation centre. Since 1995 we have released almost 1,500 kiwis into the wild. <br> You will also be able to experience the adrenalin rush of The Big Splash, explore our many free flight aviaries, come face to face with pre-history in the eyes of our many tuatara, talk to Jenny the hand-reared kea, feed the largest wild trout you will ever see, experience the wonder of our bird show featuring some of the funniest feathered performers you will ever see. <p> The machine is inside the Souvenir Shop. 4 dies, costs NZ$2 per penny. Bronze discs supplied by machine. Designs are: <br> 1) Kiwi, <br> 2) Kea, <br> 3) Rainbow Trout <br> 4) Tuatara <p> 2/14/23–machine still exists but has been moved to the gift shop (near exit door) at the National Kiwi Hatchery at the same address. Tour costs NZ$45 & best months to see chicks/eggs I are September to March.. Call/check website for current hours.<br>
