1315 10th Street (10th and L Streets), Room B-27 Sacramento, CA , 95814 Phone: (916) 324-0333 Website The California State Capitol Museum comprises a museum that is in and on the grounds around the California State Capitol in Sacramento. The Capitol building has been the home of the California State Legislature since 1869. The building underwent a major renovation, known as the California State Capitol Restoration, from 1975 until 1982 to restore the Capitol to its former beauty and to retrofit the structure for earthquake safety. Although not generally considered earthquake country, Sacramento was hit by two earthquakes within days of each other in 1892 which damaged the Capitol. The State Capitol Museum has been a property in the California State Park system since 1982.

10/15: A 4 design Pennyman machine was added here.
01/29/2024 Machine is outside the gift shop in the Basement level of the Capitol. There are lots of signs, it's easy to find once you get inside. Machine is hand crank, cost per penny is 51 cents, provide your own penny. Watch which side of the penny you are pressing on, the Lincoln Memorial shows heavily in some of the designs (the flag design especially). Otherwise, it is pressing well on copper cents. I did not attempt a speedroll with this machine. BTF |
