The first location opened on February 3, 1994. Each Rainforest Café restaurant is designed to depict some features of a rainforest, including plant growth, mist, waterfalls, animatronic robots of animals and insects. Some animals include elephants, gorillas, jaguars and the recently added tigers. To enhance this theme, the restaurants are populated by animatronic figures.
The relocated Rainforest Café @ Harmon Corner opened on September 2, 2015 with a brand new penny machine. None of the three machines from the old MGM location are here and all have been retired. The new machine is located to the extreme right of the entrance.
Rainforest Café is on the northeast corner of East Harmon Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard South in the 'Harmon Retail Corner' shopping complex. Above the Walgreens on the second level. You can take the escalator from the street then enter from there.
There is also a penny machine located 100 feet away at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company Gift Shop (Owned by the same Company).
Also another penny machine within walking distance at the Hard Rock Cafe down Las Vegas Blvd.
A half a mile walk to Horseshoe has two penny machines the Bodies Exhibit and the Lick candy store.
Machine 1: Located in the restaurant entrance to the right. $1 each cash on pre-loaded Zinc pennies. All have 'Rainforest Cafe' on them. Designs are:
1) 'Vegas Baby', Frog inside poker chip, saying over.
2) Image of Downtown Las Vegas with Vegas Vic and Lion,
3) 'Let Em' Roll, Las Vegas', Ape hanging from vine,
4) 'Cruisin' The Strip', Aligator in a car.
