Hurricane Ridge is located 17 miles south of Port Angeles on Hurricane Ridge Road, off Mount Angeles Road. Above is their mailing address.
The Hurricane Ridge Lodge and Hurricane Ridge Road were built in the 1950s as part of a plan to increase park visitation. Hurricane Ridge is named for its intense gales and winds. The weather in the Olympic Mountains is unpredictable, and visitors should be prepared for snow at any time of year. The area receives 400 inches (10,000 mm) of snowfall annually.
At an elevation of 5,242 feet (1,598 m), it is a year-round destination.
In summer, visitors come for views of the Olympic Mountains, as well as for superb hiking.
During the winter months the small, family oriented Hurricane Ridge Ski and Snowboard Area offers lift-serviced downhill skiing and snowboarding.

Some roads, campgrounds and facilities are open seasonally, snow chains may be required; call ahead to verify.

The Hurricane Ridge Visitors Center is located 17.8 miles south of the Olympic National Park Visitors Center. The station to pay Park entry fees is between the two Visitors Centers. No fees required to visit the Olympic National Park Visitors Center.
NOTE: The normal National Park entry fee ($30 per car) is required to get to Hurricane Ridge. To enter the Olympic National Park you must pay the entry fee or have a qualifying pass. They will not waive the fee for you to get the pennies.
The National Park Service will waive all entrance fees on six days in 2021. The five entrance fee-free days for 2021 will be: January 18, April 17, August 4, August 25, September 26 and November 11.
