Comments:	April 2010: The Machine has been removed.. (also the Machines at Zadar and Zaton). <p> October 8, 2022. Visited Opatija today and looked for any Machine (penny or token) on the Promenade. No machine to be found. MWHTH.<p> Opatija is a Hapsburg-era retreat that is now kind of a cheesey resort. The coin crushing machine was right on the sidewalk along the sea, near the nick-nack huts, in front of the public beach in Opatija. The best estimate on a pinpoint location is on the south side of the road and the north side of the beach they call the Slatina (Croatian/Hrvatsky for "beach") on this map.<p> Note the interesting "hashmarks" on the back of the coin where the machine pulled it through - very much more dramatic, and covering more surface area, than standard USA penny-crushing hash marks.
