Ruegen Island - Binz, Germany, 18609 Website 5/16/10" The Jagdschloss, a 19th century hunting castle, is not some rustic little retreat. Rosy pink crenellated towers rise above a two story mansion – hunting in a luxurious setting. Inside, the downstairs rooms have an incredible collection, row and after row, of elk, deer, big horn sheep skulls and antlers, wild boar tusks, a majestic stuffed stag, and even tables and chairs made out antlers. Jagdschloss (Granitz) Binz [on the Island of Rugen] is off the northern coast of Germany
You can't reach the castle by car. Either leave the car at one of the car parks and walk (20 Min), take a horse carriage (leaves in the summer from one of the car parks) or take the "Jagdschloss-Express" a little shuttle "train".
If you enter the castle you have the entrance to your right, the gift shop to your left and a big staircase in front of you. Machine stands at the end of the exhibition between the stairs and the shop. But the friendly lady at the desk let me go backwards through the shop when I asked for the machine and I didn't have to pay the entrance fee.
The machine has two designs:
1. Outline if the Island "Rügen"
2. Picture of the Castle |
