Indiana State Museum has a hands-on overview of the best Indiana has. Constructed completely from Indiana materials including limestone, sandstone, steel, brick and glass, the building itself is a work of art. Discover icons representing each of Indiana’s 92 counties on the exterior, then step inside to explore Indiana’s past, present and future through scientific, cultural, historical and art exhibits.

The Gift Shop is currently selling the Second Edition State of Indiana PennyCollector Souvenir Coin Album that contains a unique penny design for $5.99. The design of the penny is of an Indy 500 race car. The text on the penny says 'Indiana' with a stylized racing flag and appears to read "racing fan".

The museum is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. However, the lobby where the machine is located remains open on those days, so you can still access the machine and roll coins even if the museum itself is closed.

Machine is located across the lobby from the entrance to the gift shop on the first level. Machine is 51 cents per press and you roll your own coin. No admission charge to access the pennies. A change machine is adjacent to the penny machine and accepts 1 and 5 dollar bills. WARNING! This is a PennyCollector machine, but it does NOT support speedrolling! It dropped the third and fourth coins immediately and so they were only rolled on half of the die design.

All designs have "Indiana State Museum" on them. Machine 3 designs are:
1. (H) Two mastodons.
2. (V) Indiana carved into a wood pole.
3. (V) The Soldiers and Sailors monument.
4. (H) An early steam engine.

3/10: Machine #2 retired.

11/4/24 - The museum was closed (I didn't know), but the lobby was open so I was still able to roll coins. It is not wobbly as noted in the last entry. Rolled full designs on copper, as long as you don't attempt speedrolling. BTF

Machine 3 - Canal Level between the Gift Shop and Admission Desk
