Take Nevada State Route 172 off of U.S. 93 just past Boulder City if southbound or before Boulder City if northbound. Nevada State Route 172 turns into the Hoover Dam Access Road. The High Scaler Café is located in front of the 459 space multi-story parking garage just before you cross over the dam.
Hours of operation: 7 days a week 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
The multi-story parking garage charges a $10.00 fee. The next closest parking lot, area 9, is after you cross over the dam and you've entered the Arizona side and requires a $10.00 fee, both of these parking lots are cash only. Area 9 is free for handicapped parking. The other 5 parking areas (labeled 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14) further up the canyon on the Arizona side have no fees, but require a 10 minute+ walk across the dam to access the Visitor Center, the High Scaler Café and the High Scaler Gift shop on the Nevada side.
Pets are not allowed anywhere on site.
A penny machine is available in the High Scaler Gift Shop next door and at the Outlook Gift shop on the Arizona side. The Outlook Gift shop is a 5 minute drive up the hill, (walking not recommended: very steep and winding) and has a commanding view of Hoover Dam and the U.S. 93 O'Callaghan-Tillman Memorial Bridge over the dam.
As you enter the High Scaler Café, both penny machines will be to your right. The United States PennyCollector elongated coin album Third edition is for sale for $5.99 plus tax.
