Between cities of Shipka and Gabrovo, on the highest point of the road E 85 crossing the mountain, is the famous Shipka monument. The monument was built to celebrate the liberetion of Bulgaria and to honour the heroes from the Russian-Turkish war of 1877-1878. At the highest pion of the road there are signs for the monument (in brown color) and the parking with some restaurants and shops. from here you should get the monument by climbing up almost 1000 steps by foot.

1) An image of Shipka Monument,
2) An image of gun used in the war
3) An image of the national coat of arms of Bulgaria.
