The museum is now featuring The Solar System: A Journey of Exploration and The Penguins of the Antarctic. Their permanent exhibits include The Hall of North Carolina Natural History, the Hall of North American Habitats, the Hall of Earth and Man, the Hall of North American Wildlife and the Henry Hall of the American Indian. Wander outside the museum and you’ll see their nature trail, the 18th-century backcountry garden, the Stone Age Heritage site and the Catawba Indian Village and Memorial Wildlife Garden.
The James H Lynn Planetarium can seat 156 guests. Shows at the planetarium last around 45 minutes. The new SciDome XD System plays full dome films on everything from the human body to nature and space. Currently, the Schiele Museum planetarium is playing The Great Planet Adventures, Summer Sky Show, and Dynamic Earth. Planetarium tickets are $5.00 in addition to museum admission..
