The first Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. restaurant and market opened in 1996 on Cannery Row in Monterey, California after the success of the movie “Forrest Gump.” We've since grown to include many notable locations throughout the United States and internationally. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. captures the charm and American spirit that made “Forrest Gump” a smash hit, featuring down-home décor reminiscent of the movie’s setting in Alabama. Now branded as an American icon, the restaurant showcases memorabilia and still-photos from the movie, along with reproductions of script pages, storyboards and even some costumes. <br> Downstairs is the gift shop. Up the stairs is the restaurant and bar. <p> Hours of operation: <br> Open 7 days a week <br> Sunday through Saturday 11:00 am to 11:00 pm <p> Free parking is available only for the first hour at Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino $18-25 after that depending on the day of the week. No free parking for residents. It’s a 10 to 15 minute walk from the parking garage through the Desert Passage shopping area to outside at Las Vegas Boulevard and then take the escalator to the second floor to the Harmon Retail Corner. <p> You can also park at the Paris Hotel & Casino parking garage and get pennies at the Horseshoe which is attached to it. Then walk to the Harmon Retail Corner. $20-25 for non-hotel guests depending on the day of the week. Free for the first three hours for residents. <p> Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Restaurant/Gift Shop is above Walgreen's on the second level at the northeast corner of East Harmon Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard South in the 'Harmon Retail Corner' shopping complex. You can take the escalator from the street level and enter the second level from there. <p> There is a penny machine also on the second level 100 feet away at the Rainforest Cafe (Owned by the same Company).<br> Also if you walk down Las Vegas Blvd. you can find another penny machine at the Hard Rock Cafe.
