Museggstrasse 21 / Schirmertorweg Lucerne (Luzern), Switzerland, 6004 Phone: +41 79 356 69 79 Website The Musegg Wall and its nine towers are part of Lucerne's historic fortifications; forming a striking crown around the Old Town with a fabulous view of the city. The Schirmer Tower, located within the Musegg wall, was built shortly after 1420 and was originally a shell (shooting powder) tower. According to historians, this tower is said to have been elevated to the passage gate of Zürichstrasse at the time of the old Zurich War around 1442. In 1658, the gate was walled, and reopened in 1878 during the construction of the Museggschulhaus.
Hours of operation: April 1st to November 1st 08.00 (8:00 am) to 19.00 (7:00 pm). Free admission.
Machine 1 is inside the Schirmer tower on the platform at the opposite wall after climbing the first set of stairs. Cost to press: A 2 Swiss Franc coin or two 1 Swiss Franc coins and a 20 Rappen coin (Total CHf 2.20) for each design. Designs all have a beaded border with 'Museggmauer Luzern':
