The operation is so immense, it can be seen from space. The mine operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. With over 20 million tons of refined copper ore produced in the past 119 years, it is one of the top performing mines in the world.
On April 1, 2019 the new Visitor Experience at the Bingham Canyon Mine Re-opened. The visitor center had been totally destroyed by a massive landslide on April 10th, 2014.
Hours of operation: Sunday through Saturday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
You do not have to pay admission to access the penny machine.
If it's desired to take the shuttle to the open pit mine viewing area, it is highly recommended to purchase tickets on-line ahead of time.
Plenty of free parking.
Machine 2 is at the Visitor Center trailer before paying customers are shuttled up to the copper mine. Cost to press: 51¢ each design. Designs all have a beaded border with 'Bingham Canyon':

5/18/2023 Hell Of A Hole Spiral design is rolling off. Drop arm is misaligned and drops the penny before it should. Can be fixed by advancing the rollers until just before the drop arm moves back. Works right if you are trying, mis-rolling if not MLS |
