Comments:	Founded in 1903, Kennecott’s Bingham Canyon Mine is one of the largest man-made, open-pit excavations in the world. The operation is so immense, it can be seen from space. The mine operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. With over 20 million tons of refined copper ore produced in the past 119 years, it is one of the top performing mines in the world.<p> On April 1, 2019 the new Visitor Experience at the Bingham Canyon Mine Re-opened. The visitor center had been totally destroyed by a massive landslide on April 10th, 2014.<p> Hours of operation: Sunday through Saturday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. <br> You do not have to pay admission to access the penny machine. <br> If it's desired to take the shuttle to the open pit mine viewing area, it is highly recommended to purchase tickets on-line ahead of time. <br> Plenty of free parking. <p> <b>Machine 2</b> is at the Visitor Center trailer before paying customers are shuttled up to the copper mine.
