Universal Studios Japan located in Osaka, is one of four Universal Studios theme parks, owned and operated by USJ Co., Ltd. with a license from NBCUniversal. The park is similar to the Universal Orlando Resort since it also contains selected attractions from Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood. Most visitors are Japanese tourists and tourists from other Asian countries such as Taiwan, China, and South Korea. The park opened on March 31, 2001. Universal Studios Japan reached the milestone of attracting the first ten million visitors faster than any other theme park in the world. According to the Theme Index Global Attraction Attendance Report, Universal Studios Japan is ranked ninth among the top 25 amusement/theme parks worldwide (2011).

All Japanese elongated coins are pressed on planchets, and not actual coins. They are oversize, and measure about 2 x 4 cm.

2/2019: There are 17 machines inside the park, Machines 16 to 32. All press on copper tokens and costs 200 yen each. Machiines 1 to 15 have all retired.

All tokens have 'Universal Studios Japan' on them.

Machine 16 is located next to the entrance inside Universal Studios Store in Hollywood. It is at the doorway closest to the park entrance. Designs are Snoopy and Woodstock:
1) Snoopy dressed in hoodie,
2) 'I Am The Best', Snoopy and Woodstock,
3) Woodstock sitting on Snoopy.

Machine 17 is located next to Machine 16 inside Universal Studios Store in Hollywood. This is one of two Monthly Token machines in the park. Designs are:
1) January 2019: 'Pop a Nana', Minion using a blow torch to pop popcorn,
2) February 2019: Minion riding a rocket.

Machine 18 is located inside Beverly Hills Gifts in Hollywood. Designs are:
1) Snoopy, Woodstock & friends, big heart,
2) Snoopy with big heart jumping on Charlie Brown, Woodstock,
3) Snoopy sleeping on Charlie Brown's head, Woodstock.

Machine 19 is located inside Beverly Hills Gifts in Hollywood. This is one of two Monthly Token machines in the park. Designs are:
1) January 2019: Snoopy flipping ears, 4 hearts,
2) February 2019: Spider-Man, building.

Machine 20 is located inside California Confectionery in Hollywood. Designs are:
1) 'hug me', two-eyed Minion with Christmas hat,
2) 'Minions' two-eyed Minion in hooded vest,
3) 'hug me', one-eyed Minion with gloves.

Machine 21 is located inside Characters 4 U store in Hollywood. Designs are:
1) 'Big Bird', Big Bird with Teddy Bear,
2) 'Elmo', Elmo with pet fish,
3) 'Cookie Monster', Cookie Monster with jar of cookies.

Machine 22 is located inside Peanuts Corner Store in Hollywood. Designs are:
1) 'WOW!', Snoopy with Woodstock,
2) 'Schulz', Snoopy smiling,
3) Charlie Brown dragging Snoopy.

Machine 23 is located inside Studio Style in Hollywood. Designs are:
1) 'Kevin', Minion with arms out looking at stars,
2) 'Bob & Tim', Minion with Teddy Bear,
3) 'Stuart', Minion with Like sign.

Machine 24 is located inside Hello Kitty Design Studio store in Hollywood. Designs are:
1) 'Hello Kitty', big Hello Kitty head,
2) Hello Kitty in dress and ribbons,
3) 'Hello Kitty', Hello Kitty head, ribbons.

Machine 25 is located next to the door inside Cinema 4-D Store in Hollywood. The store also has signs outside reading 'Universal Cool Japan'. These designs could be temporary as the ride 'Lupin the Third: Car Chase XR Ride' only runs from 1/18/2019 to 6/23/2019. Designs are:
1) Lupin the Third and lady,
2) 'Lupin the Third', silhouette figures,
3) Daisuke Jigen and Goemon Ishikawa XIII.

Machine 26 is located further inside Cinema 4-D Store in Hollywood. These designs could also be temporary as the attraction 'Detective Conan: The World' only runs from 1/18/2019 to 6/23/2019. Designs are:
1) Detective Conan,
2) 'Detective Conan', Detective Conan and Kid The Phantom Thief,
3) 'Kid The Phantom Thief'.

Machine 27 is located inside Eternal Wish - Wishing on a Star Together in Hollywood. Designs are:
1) Curious George in front of Universal Studios,
2) 'Curious George', Curious George, Paintbrush and paint bucket,
3) 'Curious George', Curious George with musical notes.

Machine 28 is located inside The Amazing Spider-Man Store in New York. Designs are:
1) Spider-Man shooting web,
2) Spider-Man above-the-shoulder view,
3) Spider-Man crawling.

Machine 29 is located inside Jurassic Outfitters in Jurassic Park. All tokens have 'Jurassic World' on them. Designs are:
1) 'Blue', Raptor,
2) Jurassic Park logo,
3) T-Rex.

Machine 30 is located inside Amity Island Gifts in Amity Village. The entrance of the store is not facing the main road, but facing where you get off the boat at Jaws, the ride. Designs are:
1) 'Jaws', shark with head out of the water,
2) Shark with mouth opens,
3) 'Jaws', shark fin, boat and lighthouse.

Machine 31 is located inside Snoopy Studios store in Universal Wonderland. Designs are:
1) Olaf and Andy,
2) Belle and Snoopy,
3) Spike and Marbles.

Machine 32 is located inside Sesame Street Kids Store in Universal Wonderland. Designs are kid version of Sesame Street characters:
1) Cookie Monster and Big Bird,
2) Elmo and muppet,
3) Ernie and Bert.
