Casino is Italian for assembly or gathering place. There is no gambling in this casino. Santa Catalina island can only be reached by airplane, boat or helicopter. Regularly scheduled ferry boat service is available from San Pedro, Long Beach, Newport Beach and Dana Point and takes about an hour. Helicopter service, which takes only 15 minutes, is available from San Pedro and Long Beach. Catalina by the Sea has Catalina's largest selection of gifts and souvenirs.
Hours of operation: Daily. Monday through Thursday 8:30 am to 7:00 pm, Friday through Sunday 8:30 am to 8:00 pm.

No parking: you can't bring your car to Santa Catalina Island.

04/03/2021: shop reopened after pandemic closure. Rolled a bit short on the first copper but fine on the rest after application of a thin layer of ChapStick to one side of the pennies.
I was told they hadn't had any of the penny books in at least a year, so they should be considered retired, especially considering this is the only elongated coin machine on Catalina Island. |
