The museum opened in 1993 and offers earth science dinosaur oriented displays that keep up with most recent discoveries. In April and May of 2012 the museum added twelve animatronic dinosaurs as well as an extensive collection of life size models displayed both inside and outside the museum. New displays of Australian dinosaurs, earth sciences including meteorites and fluorescent mineral displays are planned for late 2012 and 2013.
Although located in Australia, these machines press original US pennies, as opposed to the usual copper blank coins.
