705 U.S. Highway 101 Garberville, CA , 95542-8701 Phone: (707) 247-3717 Website The Log House is a large Redwood tree log, hollowed out and gutted, then outfitted like the living room of a house. Crafted by Art Schmock in 1946 from a 2,100 year-old Redwood, this section of the tree weighed four tons and took eight months of labor to hollow out a room 7’ high and 32’ feet long. With wheels attached, it toured the United States until settling down in Redwood country in 1999.
Hours of operation: Monday through Sunday 9:30 am to 7:30 pm. Plenty of free parking. You do not have to pay admission to access the penny machine, but there is a $2 charge to access the log house.
