300 Stewart Avenue Las Vegas, NV , 89101-2956 Phone: (702) 229-2734 Website Told from both side, organized crime and that of law enforcement. This fascinating history in America is brought to life through one-of-a-kind artifacts, interactive touch screens and unique displays to interact with law enforcement and organized crime tools. For example, visitors can shoot a simulated Tommy gun, listen to real FBI surveillance tapes on wiretapping equipment or take part in FBI weapons training.
The Museum also features some of the most iconic artifacts in Mob history including the wall from the St. Valentine’s Day Massacre in Chicago.
The Museum is housed within the historic former federal courthouse and U.S. Post Office. The courtroom on the second floor is the very courtroom where one of 14 national Kefauver Hearings to expose organized crime was held back in 1950.
Hours of operation: Sunday through Thursday 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, Friday and Saturday 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.
The price of admission varies widely for tourists and locals, on-line or on-site, with single or group rates, or combination tickets: see the website. Free admission on February 14th, Valentines day (a portion of the St Valentines Day Massacre wall is part of the museum display) and November 15th, Kefauver day (Kefauver Committee hearings took place here on Nov. 15, 1950). The Penny Passport souvenir penny collecting book is for sale in the gift shop for $5.99 plus tax.
Parking is $8.00 for 4 hours while you are in the museum, but you can sometimes park in the lot next door to the west for free if available.
Free parking downtown is now gone unless you are a registered guest at one of the hotels. The hotel casino parking garages charge different rates for hourly parking, most are $2.00 for an hour. You can also park on-street (not on Fremont Street) at one of the pay meters.
