3-1 Uchiuranagahama (Izu peninsula) Shizuoka (Numazu City), Japan, 410-0224 Phone: +81 55-943-2331 Izu Mito Sea Paradise is a small Aquarium that displays Orcas, Dolphins, and a variety of other marine animals. They have displayed Orcas on and off since the 1980s, and currently have an adult female on display. Izu Mito has participated in many captures, mostly of Dolphins and small Whales. They are currently seeking an adult (or young adult) male Orca, as a companion for Asuka, and for breeding purposes. They will likely acquire this Orca through a Russian capture.
Izu Mito's facility is a small, roped off bay. While the exact measurements are unknown, it appears that Izu Mito is slightly smaller than the Taiji Whaling Museum, which has a similar bay pen approach. The pen is split into 2 sections, with Asuka in one, and a mix of Dolphins in the other. The water going in is not filtered, and the animals are exposed to whatever pollutants might be in it.
